• Draco Malfoy's head works so well here.
  • Black Canary: By the way, what's with the new outfit?
Huntress: Seven hundred sit-ups a day.

I hadn't fully caught up with Birds of Prey, so I realized too late after finishing up the decal that Huntress changed her uniform yet again.. oh well.
  • In hindsight, sculpting this (onto a old spaceman helmet) was probably overkill. I should have just left the helmet alone and stuck a decal to the head.
  • Not a Lego cape - trying out some MMCB custom capes this time around.
  • Black cape, yellow decal applied to one side.
  • Not terribly happy with this sculpt.
  • I haven't read enough JSA, so I have to ask: what does the owl do? Peck out people's eyes?
  • Lego needs to make purple hands.

DC Hero Minifigs - Wave 5

Newer Older

Fifth batch of custom DC hero minifigs - left to right: Green Lantern (Guy Gardner), Huntress, Hourman, and Doctor Mid-Nite.

I finally got myself a tripod to use along with a decent prime lens, so I can take better minifig shots. The downside: the flaws are that much more obvious, especially in my headpiece sculpting skills.

Shadow Viking, fengschwing, and 28 other people added this photo to their favorites.

Deadman, Phantom Stranger, and Spectre will be in the next batch. As to the others, a bunch are on the todo list as my spare time permits. :)

    cool. :)

Black Spider is one of my favorite characters, I hope that he's one on the to do list, he seem like he'd be easy to do. & the Enchantress could be easy, too, if they actually do have a LEGO Scarecrow, just get his hat, & paint it green. :D

    Hi there!
I'm kinda new to the custom Lego scene and was wondering how to properly remove the original decals. I've tired Brasso (nothing), Nail polish remover (no) and goof off (melted the plastic). So, I was wondering how such a well established person such as yourself does it. Buy the way, I'm a big fan of your work and am in the process of making my own Guy Gardner now!

    Lego Lantern:

I used to use Brasso. The ink comes off eventually with Brasso, but it takes a lot of work. I also didn't like the fact that Brasso dulled the surface of the Lego, although since I was just covering it up with a decal I guess it didn't matter as much.

Nowadays I use Testor's enamel thinner which comes in the little 1/4 oz bottles. Use a small amount on a cotton q-tip, rub q-tip vigorously on the surface and don't be afraid to use some pressure - the ink comes off eventually. I've found that this stuff has the least effect on the Lego surface. Warning: take the warning label seriously.

Testor's enamel thinner might just be xylene, which you can find in a hardware store in much larger bottles, but I haven't put that to the test. So far I've been happy with the enamel thinner solution.

    Thanks for being a fan!

    Thank you so much!

By the way I've made my own Iron Man, Superman,Rorshach& Aquaman, at least those are the ones I've finished. On the drawing board, I've got Guy (as you well know), Hal Jordan, Sinestro (in yellow Corps suit), Gentleman Ghost, Classic 40's Two Face, Classic Yellow and Blue Wolverine, DEADPOOL, Bizzaro, and a second rendition of Iron Man.

    Thanks again,
    Lego Lantern
