Portrait of a Barn Swallow
A Short Recommendation
Rented a 100-400 L lens from Cosmic Guest House this weekend. Though located in a rather dodgy place in TST, the guy who runs the rental place (Kelvin) is rather nice and it's a new business he's trying to start up. He was good enough to meet me at Central to pass me the lens, and the cost was reasonable for the weekend. One comment from him was memorable - "Hong Kong people are rich, they don't rent lenses, they just buy them."
I'm returning the lens tomorrow (he's coming down to Central), and if that transaction goes well, I'd have no qualms about recommending anyone from renting from them.
Armed with the 100-400 L lens, I went birding in Mai Po yet again! Managed to get a lot more shots this time with a longer reach, including this awesome portrait of a Barn Swallow. These birds fly like a maniac and it was impossible to get them in flight - however, this little guy here allowed me to get about 2-3m away from him (I was alone away from the group) and I managed to grab a few shots before he flew away!
