I know it's not perfect; it's my first try at this "effect." Another first is that this is my first self portrait. The proportions are pretty close, but a bit skewed--I never was good at PS perspective. ISO800 on me, so I made it extra soft to compensate for the noise. The shadows are done pretty quickly as well, but I've been up doing this for about seven hours, and I'm running low on sleep. Also, please ignore the silly AWB discrepancy between me and my surroundings--woops. Thanks Nathan!

Feedback appreciated if you can stand my ugly mug.

Most importantly, I'd like to thank Feisty Foop (aka Flibble at Fred Miranda, where I first saw it) for the idea. He explains how this effect is done in his original version.

Thank you dear friends for making this one of the most popular self portraits of 2006, ranking #2 in favorites, and in interestingness it is #4 for males and #9 overall. This reached and held interestingness1 for a long time as well.
