"Looking for Tadpoles" by Les Bryant 2010

11X14

Oil on canvas

Completed Apr. 4, 2010

In this painting I tried to express a moment of wonder, this child so lost in thought, as he explores his world, and marvels at the creatures that share it. While we can not see the minnows and tadpoles that hold him so captivated, we can imagine them swarming around his legs, disturbed by the giant that has entered their world.

Many thanks to the Children at Risk Foundation for permission to use their beautiful photo "Passing Moments...." as inspiration for this painting. www.flickr.com/photos/beija-flor/463587997/ ... I want to express my sincere appreciation not only for the use of the photo but for the wonderful work they are doing to aid the street children of Brazil. Every child deserves a chance.

April 2016 Due to popular demand a high quality limited edition giclee of this painting is now available at my new website lesbryant2.com
