2011 SWOSSAA Wrestling Championships - McKenna Kameka

McKenna is a grade 10 athlete for SCITS. In general, she is really a wonderful, cheerful young wrestler who, like so many people in the sport, turns into a lean, mean killing machine when the whistle blows at the start of the match.

Here we can see McKenna working a front headlock on her opponent from St. Joseph's. As her strategy grows and improves, McKenna's natural talents and reflexes are helping her better take advantage of the opportunities that present themselves in a wrestling match, and her killer instinct makes sure that when her opponents are put to the mat, they don't get back up.

McKenna won her gold medal match, sending her to OFSAA in Sudbury, a great accomplishment for any grade ten athlete, but one we're especially proud of at SCITS, since we've only been coaching at the school for two years ourselves.
