Upper Mustang trek, Nepal, 2010
We were few of the happy 2000 tourists which are yearly granted permit to enter the mysterious Upper Mustang kingdom in northern Nepal, behind the Himalaya ridge on the Tibetan plateau.

The region is very distant and there are no roads going through. From the south the road ends after the first day of the trek, from the north it reaches also only about one day from the highlight - the wall city of Lo Manthang - the capital and residency of the Mustang King Raja Jigme Dorje Palbar Bista.

This separation from the civilization and geographical remoteness together with rather complicated access make the place unique and helped to protect the pure Tibetan culture of the region.

Please have a look at this unbelievable beauty .....
