Ridgeway's Rail, once California Clapper Rail

The Clapper Rail complex was split, and out west coast birds are now called Ridgeway's Rail, Rallus obsoletus. Habitat loss remains a critical problem for the species in the SF Bay area. They are reliably seen during high tides at a number of locations, including Muzzi's Marsh, Corte Madera, California. Other great spots are Arrowhead Marsh and Palo Alto Baylands.

Early digiscoped photo. The jpeg from the CP4500 was only 1MB!
