Snow Leopard ... Nubo on the left is the male & Renjy is on the right and is a female

Uncia uncia

The snow leopard’s five-inch thick coat affords great protection from the cold. The coat also comes in handy as camouflage, helping the leopard blend in with the rocky terrain to hide from potential prey. Sadly, the beautiful coat also hinders the leopard’s survival, as poaching for the fur is one of its major threats.

. This is a similar pose to one that I have already posted of our two new Snow Leopards at the Cincinnati Zoo. I just can't get enough these cats. The Cincinnati Zoo's new Cat Canyon is amazing. Our zoo really improved all of the enclosesures that the cats now call home.

The new Cat Canyon officially opened on Saturday 6-30-12 . This exhibit is a must see.

Have a very nice day everyone.
