Milk Drop Splash In Coffee

Newer Older

This is my first time doing this. I did a primitive setup thinking it would just be a test and practice. I didn't think they'd turn out so well. I thought maybe this one was good enough to upload. There are so many great ones out there.

I used one auto slave Quantaray 900W flash at 16th power bounced on the wall and underneath the cupboard behind the coffee cup and a Canon 430EX II at 64th power to camera left but not far enough to the side. I had to stamp out some bright highlights. Black fabric for the background. Reflector to the right.

In the future I will come up with a much better setup and hope to get some really good ones.

Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro at f/10
200th sec
ISO 200 (but cropped this photo a lot)

So detailed and still, like with interesting macros, so abstract!

Wow! The milkiness at the top of the drop is swoon inducing! Fantastic job!
