'52!? Holy cow, that was adventurous! And hot. And well executed.
Though the verse is flea-ridden doggerel...

All spot on observations, James Rose. I especially think Brackett gave this girl a very modern hair cut. Totally atypical for the times, for pinup... a very compelling look!

With her fine bone structure and boyish haircut and compelling body language this gal is way ahead of her time compared to the more zatfig women mostly seen in early '50's calendars.
      I like Mr. Brackett!

rather than looking like a growed-up woman, this gal looks like she just stepped out of a malt shop.

and I sure like the implied sand dune.

      Looks a lot like a co-ed to me... = J

FWIW, Greta Garbo was sporting this hairdo (pageboy?) in the 20s - it's timeless = )

I'm intrigued by the curiously marked dates on the calendar......

Yeah, you're right, ctb59... but very few pinups from this period had this sort of look, timeless or not. That's what so interesting about Brackett's choice in presenting us with this particular lovely gal.

The circled dates were done long before my time by the gentleman from whom I inherited my original collection of old magazine clippings... so I'm afraid I can't say what their significance is.

There are greens and there are reds... some kind of "scoring" system, maybe? (pun intended)

I think the starfish is trying to tell us something.
