OH-84 Choctaw

The OH-84 Choctaw is the successor aircraft to the 80’s era Kiowa Warriors as the US Army’s primary light helicopter type, operating in the armed reconnaissance/observation roles in support of ground troops. Coming equipped with two universal weapons pylons capable of being armed with any combination of heavy machine guns, air-to-air missiles, unguided rockets, or anti-tank missiles (seen here equipped with the latter two). This relatively high-hitting weapons load combined with a rather quiet and very powerful engine has allowed the Choctaw to prove itself to be a very capable and versatile platform, especially suited for missions where the sheer blunt force of a dedicated attack helicopter isn’t needed.

This started as a build-off between myself and Erik on the topic of light observation helicopters. He built and uploaded his finished product, the LOA, quite a while ago, but it has taken me this long to get my own build polished and uploaded. I'm rather happy with it, even if the picture quality is crap.
