Excuse me but are you still going to take that pic of how the hips are attached? I wouldn't ask but I have nearly finished my museum (waiting on a few bricklink orders) but after many attempts I still cannot work out how you have done it.

James Sorry, I knew I was forgetting something! I can't take the pics right now, and tomorrow I'll also be busy, but I might be able to find some free time tomorrow, if not, I'll try on Monday. If you don't get the pics by Tuesday night, send me a reminder ; )
  • James 4y

You asked for a reminder on Tuesday night so here it is. Thank you for all of your help.
  • James 4y

Hello? You asked for a reminder on tuesday and it is now Friday. Sorry if I am being annoying, I just really want to finish this museum.

James Dude, just use some hoses and clips. You may be able to come up with a better connection. You can look at the many joint connections on my mechs for ideas too.

James UGH! I am SO sorry, I have been extremely busy with school this week, I'll go a pic right now, before I forget (Again)

Wait, I just went through the pics in my cam, I already have a pic DX
I just need to upload it -_-
  • James 4y

Pete Corp I did try, I asked for the picture as a last resort. All of the techniques I tried didn't get the hips at the right angle or (more commonly) too far out from the spine.
  • James 4y

I really need these pictures, they are the final thing before the model is complete. I would really appreciate the pictures.
  • legomocs. 4y

James What????????? I have had the picture up for like 2 weeks now, it's a private photo, but I added you so you can see it!!!! I also sent you a link in a PM. Wait, have you even checked your Flicker mail???
  • Adam Yes. Have one. 4y

    James
Jesus Christ, dude stop whining! be happy that someone even wants to help you. Or use a 1x1 brick with studs all around, two 1x1 vertical clips, two droid bodies or what. Unbelievable.
  • James 4y

I am really sorry, I am new to Flickr, I was checking your photostream but not my messages. I am sorry that I am whining. I just really want to finish the model. Again I am SO sorry.

    James

We can all help you out. Try building a few samples of what you think the hip looks like. The lego community can then help you tweak it. So post up some pictures.
  • legomocs. 4y

James There's no need to apologize, I should be the one apologizing. I did tell you that I would get the pics to you MONTHS ago, but life got in the way. so once more, I apologize for making you wait so long.

If you need help with anything else, just ask : )
  • James 4y

The mistake that I made was assuming that the two parts that make up the hip were attached to each other. What this meant is that all of the techniques I tried had the hips far too far out from the waist and it looked horrible. I will post some pics of the museum soon but it will still be a WIP. I severely underestimated the amount of pieces I would need for certain parts of it and some parts I forgot to order all together. I will try to get the pics up in the next week.

Wow this is seriously impressive! Not that big either, which makes it even more impressive. Excellent work.
