There is a background story to making the "Small Animals" series regarding my LEGO life. I was in the UK to study architecture and design for a year last year. While abroad, I couldn't bring any of my LEGO collection to the UK from Japan. I just brought some Star Wars figures and some accessories because I was absorbed in taking photos of them. However, for a long time I didn't build any particular mocs and I couldn't stand it any longer. Then the light bulb went of in my mind: I could make small models of animals! And that's how my animal series came to be. Those animals are mostly constructed from accessories and minifigure parts. I also bought some PaB (Pick a Brick) at the LEGO Store, which I was excited for because at the time there was only one LEGO Store far away in Tokyo and there are many all around Europe. Some of the parts I bought were very useful to build animals and were a good source of motivation to find alternative uses because people can get those parts easily. I often consider alternative ways to build something by looking at interesting parts and newly released parts.
