Helmet Cam Replay - KIA
While at Brickworld, Nannan I had the privilege of having some in-depth conversations with Hawk and his awesome parents about the Lego hobby. One such point of discussion which came up as a result of my degree in film, was the narrative aspect of some of my work. I went on to express my plans to do some experimenting and exploration into the realm of 'live action' Lego films. While I enjoy and appreciate stop-motion Lego films, I myself don't have the patience to do them. I also feel that stop-motion films (in general) tend to lack a certain cinematic quality which I hope to be able to achieve through 'live action' films. These 'live action' Lego films are something that I really haven't seen done and would like to further explore the possibilities of non stop-motion Lego films. This film serves as a sort of proof-of-concept for what I want to eventually achieve on a much larger scale.
In essence, these sort of films are not difficult to achieve and I would like to see more people attempting to do things like this. All I needed to create this video was a dark blue bed-sheet, tan pillowcase, 2 flashlights, a fairly cheap editing program, photoshop for graphics, and a crappy digital camera. All of the visual and sound effects were either free effects under the creative commons license or ones that I created myself.
Please take time to view the photos of the Oasis Mech as well.
Thanks for reading and watching. :)
