This is a shot of the back entrance to the home. My client wanted to show the back staircase to provide context, and the mirror served as the perfect vehicle. I chose to use the mirror reflection to tell the "stair story" rather than shooting wider to the include the newel post located CL. The owners beautiful (yet slightly frightened) Great Dane quivering on the landing of the stairs was a happy accident that, for me, makes the photo. I asked Layla to align her neck and snout with the corresponding handrails and she happily obliged. Best. Model. Evah! A small pop of flash slightly CR off the ceiling to help with the details on the table, but most of this is ambient light coming from the door on the left and the big window up on the landing of the stairs. I wish the space between the table and the bucket was either bigger or smaller. It's a bit too hairline for my liking as is. Thoughts?
