Revival @ Lotherton: drawing the collections

Why does fashion go in cycles?

How does an eigtheeenth century corset inspire Vivienne Westwood?

Why do we use feathers on lots of clothes and hats?

Revival at Lotherton Hall draws on fashions from the past and objects in the Hall to create new ideas and clothes. It's the ultimate in recyling!

In 2010, the focus of the annual project was on birds and the hats that can be made from their feathers. Students studied and drew the birds, looked at and handled historical costumes and created their own designs and clothes. The process was judged and the winning costume was on view to the public in the exhibition at Lotherton during 2010.
