As of April 1, California's snowpack is at 50 percent of normal. Despite a good March, and a huge storm which essentially raised the snowpack from 30 percent at the beginning of the month, we are still at awful low levels. The snow has already started melting, and our waterfall season will be a short one. Time to get out and enjoy the waterfalls now, while you can!
This is from a couple weeks ago, at Russian Gulch State Park. An easy hike to a small but pretty waterfall. The jumble of logs really adds to the character of this waterfall, in my opinion.
