purple waves

I've been dreaming since you left me

a hundred years ago

drifting through the purple waves

of an orphan's gently torn tears

I love you endlessly

even though

it is not returned

even if

I must now love you

from the shadows

never calling you

by your rightful name:

lover, lover,

the bed is burning

my bones are yearning

my skin is singing out

a sad refrain:

come back

come back to me.

Wanted to attempt something a bit more classical and dramatic. I tried to come up with the poem after making the picture, which is kind of backwards way of working, but I don't hate it entirely so that's a start. The image just seemed like it warranted a verse. Came up with this at 3 am last night and it kept me up all night. Now I have a full day ahead of me on no sleep. All4UFlickr.
