The LBJ Presidential Library’s Future Forum hosted a panel discussion on Monday, May 23, 2016, about challenges and opportunities facing Austin’s creative class. Panelists included Jenny Larson, artistic director of Salvage Vanguard Theater; Shea Little, executive director of Big Medium/Canopy/Bolm; Frank Rodriguez, senior policy advisor for the Austin mayor's office; and John Riedie, CEO of the Austin Creative Alliance. They discussed the high cost of real estate for housing and arts venues, its impact on Austin’s ability to maintain and grow a creative culture, and emerging ideas to address those challenges. Austin music journalist Andy Langer moderated the discussion at Google Fiber Space, a community meeting venue in downtown Austin.
