Jægergårdsgade, Værkmestergade 15-17, Spanien 20(under nedrivning)-65 - DSC_2926_7_8_Balancer
DSB Centralværksted, Spanien 20 during demolition. Approaching the site from the west, down Jægergårdgade. At first, the complex looks relatively intact, but this far southwestern corner is in fact the only part still standing (the tall white building in the centre)
For over a century, danish state railroads DSB had two main repairshops, one in Copenhagen, the other in Aarhus. There were departments for locomotives, waggons and "conversions" of rolling stock. Some of the buildings are long gone, while others have come under heritage protection. The waggon repairshops (in recent years known as the component workshops (komponentværksted)) did not fit into any of these categories.
Consisting of 4 connected buildings, dating from 1940 to 1960, the complex was finally demolished in early spring 2014 to make room for new housing- and recreational area Frederiks Plads.
