Josselin is an astonishingly well preserved medieval town, and one of the most characterful small towns in Brittany.

The town is centred on the church and castle. The winding lanes are lined with 15th, 16th and 17th century houses.

The town stands on a hillside and runs down to the river Oust at the bottom.

It is located in a region of beautiful countryside, which has many religious monuments and earns as much of its living from tourism as it does from agriculture.

There is a wide choice of good quality bars, pavement cafes, and restaurants to choose from in the town.

The chateau is undoubtedly the jewel in Josselin's crown. One of the most impressive in Brittany, it is open to the public throughout the year with English tours available.
