Lake Angeles from above

This photo was taken up on the trail between Lake Angeles and Klahhane Ridge, in the northeastern Olympics (the trailhead is Heart 'o' the Hills, just south of Port Angeles). Even in late May, there was still snow on the trail.

Note for other hikers thinking of doing that trail: this is the steepest part of a very gnarly trail. (Other parts of the trail are gnarly in different ways.) It was okay going downhill; I would not choose to do it uphill. It is very rocky, and there are lots of large stair-steps.
