The wonderful patterns and colors of a piece of farm machinery used to rake hay outside of Juda, Wisconsin.

Having grown up on the farm, I was familiar with this piece of machinery. Its wonderful lines and geometry were always fun to look at.

Totally thought this was a picture of a carnival ride at first. Cool geometry, perspective, and color.

Just perfect, the clarity, the sharpness, harmony of colours. You captured a frozen moment in time. Great.

Hi Todd, I am genuinely impressed with your photography, and pick this one to comment on for a reason. I am trying to decide on buying a wide lens with good color rendition and corner performance. Hope you can help me. Can you indicate what lens you used for this shot, and how much edit (levels, saturation) was needed on this.

      Would appreciate your response.
      best,
      Avi

Thank you for your kind comments, Avi. You are far too generous. The lens I used in this shot is the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM. You can read my review of this lens here:

      www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=2&amp...

It is a great lens, however, I will be parting with it soon and putting it up on eBay. I'm making some changes to my lens collection, and come early December I'm changing from this lens to the Mark II version of this lens, which has more resolving power. Since you shoot with the 5D that shouldn't be a concern. But I also shoot with the 5D Mark II which can benefit from the better optics of the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM II.

      Good luck!
