Stripes and lights

No wonder they leave you breathless. The color in the clouds far by is Hafnarfjörður city;-)

i must see these before i die. incredible. do they really look like this or is it just due to the 60secs exposure? either way, fantastic shot!

Wow, wonderful, breathtaking!! Maybe this compensates a little bit the dark wintertime without the sun?!

    12. LaStef ages ago | reply

@samboyd: Well these are due to the exposure they really dance more. It depends on the evening how bright they are as well as what color they are. The shorter the exposure the better because then you see the dance better. If you are far away from any noice you can also sometimes hear their zimmer across the sky. The orange across the sky far away is actually the city at the other side, really difficult to get them out if there is a town close by, but it adds color;-)

@Claude@Munic: Definitely they do, When the moon is full, the snow frosen and glitters, the northern lights dance across the sky. It is simply amazing and makes you happy;-)

Ouch! I'm hurting not to be able to see the northern lights now. You must be on a retainer from the Icelandic Tourist Board LaStef! :0)

I am a 3rd year (BA Hons) Music Production student in Leeds, UK.

As a project for the year we have had to compose 30 minutes of music.
I have decided to set my composition to footage of the Aurora Borealis/ Northern Lights and your photographs would work fantastically well for this assignment. The project is strictly for academic purposes and will not be released in the commercial realm.

Would it be alright if i could use your photographs within my project? You will be credited within the sleeve notes however you wish.

      Thank you for reading.
