Storm on Upper Waterton Lake Waterton National Park (Watertonlake_DSC1701.jpg)

Taken in early November below the Prince of Whales Hotel on Upper Waterton Lake during high winds and rain/snow storm. Despite that looking like blue sky in the background.... it is actually dark grey/blue clouds... the ironic part is that the sun was almost directly in the opposite direction but was making an incredible display on the clouds in the east.... I managed to capture a couple of shots of it but was fleeting at best. I was also trying to capture a series of three waves in a long exposure for a soft effect... but timing it so that when the mirror closed it caught a hard edged wave as well... took a great number of photos trying to do it and this one turned out the best of the bunch in the series. Also tried doing it was a rear flash but was not very successful as the reach wasn't enough to do what I wanted. In all I was pleased with how this one turned out despite the fairly "burned out" section of clouds from the sun's light on it.
