River of Orange (rocky-river_DAA5026.jpg)
Since fall colours seem to be the order of the day on Flickr... I thought I would chime in with another one....
This shot was taken on the Rocky River in Jasper National Park. The overcast sky brought out the colours in the river and I thought the orange (almost brown) and yellow leaves provided an interesting contrast, as well as leading lines. I was hoping to get some shots of the trees with the leaves still on them... but most of the leaves had dropped within a day or so before I got there and left a trail along the edge of the river:(
As they say though.... when one door closes... another one opens;)
If you have ever driven in this area you can't miss this spot as it definitely stands out with its colour and the fact that there are usually a lot of bighorn sheep nearby.
Shot with a Singh-Ray LB Polarizer, Expodisc Warming filter, and a Singh-Ray 2 stop soft GND filter to reign in the contrast with the sky as well as to warm up the image slightly.
