This dead cypress is in a grove above Point Lobos, the extraordinary meeting of land and sea just south of Carmel. I have shot there dozens of times and often came back to this tree. It could only be shot on an overcast or foggy day because in sunshine it was simply too contrasty. This was shot of a B&W slide film made for a short while in the late 1990s and only processed in a handful of labs around the country. Duggal processed the roll this came from.
