Sandwich Tern, Stone Harbor Point, Stone Harbor, NJ 6/9/12

I drove down from Brigantine Island after Tom Reed had reported the Tern. I knew it was gonna be a long shot but thought what the hell. When I was there I believed I didn't "SEE" the Sandwich Tern but I was also far away with no scope, so I decided to snap a few pictures and zoom in and see what happens. While I was shooting there was a bit of turn over. When Tom first reported there were 11 Royals, when I got there Rob Fanning had 5 or 6 I believe and after he left there were 10. So the birds were moving. When I got home I upload the pictures and found the Sandwich Tern had indeed returned and I was able to capture a distant shot, very crappy. I sent the picture to Tom Reed and he has confirmed that is the Sandwich Tern. After all that, I had gone home pissed Saturday night...now, not so much!
