Food Porn: Tiki Hut Bar & Grille

    Newer Older

Continuing my burger theme, I had a grileld sirloin burger at Tiki Hut Bar & Grille on pier 63 (the barge). It was very good, although slightly overcooked. And although it was grilled, it lacked that delicious burnty grill flavor. Much more expensive too, at $8, but very filling. To it's credit, unlike Shake Shack, I did not feel the need to get fries to make it a complete meal.

What I find deeply troubling, is that your description of an imperfect hamburger, along with the photograph that accompanys it, is making me feel......

      VERY HUNGRY.

Where oh where have I gone wrong?!?!

Wow... looks so much nicer here than it did on your plate.

Well, no matter how it looked, it was delish.

Of course, I skipped lunch that day, so I might be a little biased.

I like the cropping and the depth of field control. Usually I think that "rule of thirds" stuff on composition is complete garbage, but it looks nice here.

      looks good

Yeah, I use the rule of thirds to cover up my lack of originality.

Did I just say that out loud?

yuleng, StarrGazr - it was quite delish.

Am I crazy for faving this? Nope.

Now I am off to find a pic of a $5 shake.

      This is a great shot!!!
That burger is screaming "eat me! eat me!"

When you find that $5 shake, give me a call, I'm all hankering for one now.

tp - If burgers could speak, I think "Don't eat me! Noooooo!" would be what they would scream.
(not that it would stop me)

Thank you for sharing this tasty looking burger under Creative Commons! We used it FarmAid.org this month to promote our article about why it's so hard to get meat from good sources (bit.ly/mr981C).
