Ice Blowing in the Wind

Not really! But this ice does remind me of a line of laundry blowing in the wind. Driving winds from the North along with splashing waves created a curved wall of ice resembling dinosaur teeth hanging from the catwalk leading to the outer light of the St. Joseph, Michigan lighthouse. The catwalk deck is about ten feet above the pier, the ice "teeth" hang down to the pier in some places.

Beautiful pieces of round ice, called pancake ice, float in the lake next to the pier.
