Always Have a Marker at the Ready

    Newer Older

It seems that I've seen plenty of attempts to figure out the whole, "Where the hell are my dry erase markers?" problem. The marker storage solution should be:

    Easier to use than not
Oriented to keep the markers inverted so gravity forces the ink to the felt tips
Scalable to accomodate a wide variety and quantity of markers
    Aesthetically pleasing
    Simple to install
    Insanely cheap

Again, Velcro to the rescue. Get a long strip of velcro, and stick a long black strip of the hook side along the bottom of the whiteboard. Match the color if you feel so inclined. Then, wrap a band of the loop side near the top of the marker. Presto! Returning the markers back to their spot is as easy (if not easier) then putting them on your desk and forgetting where they are when you need them.

Yahoo! Tip: Getting velcro is as easy as walking over to Facilities walk up help desk on A1. they'll bring out a roll, and you cut your length!

Lantzilla, very cool but slightly veering off track...where is that bag prototype? : )

Sadly, it's still in my little head. I'm afraid the bag might just be a little bit of
      brain crack.

Good idea! Magnetic strip will work too... the best is a magnetic white board then you can glue magnetic strips to the markers and stick them to the board. -- Comment left by Regina

Why can't you just...I don't know, put the marker in the marker tray (usually attached to the board) when you are done? I mean, what the heck is going on over there at Yahoo! ??

      No tray. Sorry, Linc.

We pass the savings on to to you (and more, more, our shareholders).

We at Lanlogic have no trays either. Which I why I will also be doing this when I return from Quincy... :)

It is a marker conspiracy!! They want you to LOOSE your markers by not having a place to put them, thus resulting in the purchase of more and more markers. Hoover Dam! they'er good!!
