Early morning symmetry over another flawless backcountry lake, Kings Canyon National Park.
First things first; yes, the water really is that color. Some of the lakes in this area do have that gemlike look, making them even more beautiful. I’m not sure why, but I’m quite curious! The breeze was beginning to pick up, creating small ripples in the water – I had to wait for a few brief moments of calm to get this shot.
Taken in the middle of a 19-day, 275-mile backpacking trip last summer. Good times. :)
My tent shared this vantage point – can you say waterfront property?
note: sorry about my weeklong disappearance from the flickr world -- lame excuse, I know, but I've been busy beyond belief with midterms and projects. I will stop by your streams and try to catch up ASAP! As always, thoughtful feedback is highly appreciated.
