Splash of Solitude
Aloha, fellow Flickrites!
Taken from a wild and remote Hawaii beach just before sunset. See the other photos in my recent series for more on the adventure of getting here.
When I planned this trip, I had envisioned a series of extremely long exposures to smooth out the water – then I arrived and found I loved its texture and graceful power and didn’t want to lose it! In fact, I didn’t want to just keep it; I wanted to make it my subject.
Here is one of the results! I hope it’s a little different, more intimate, than other seascapes you’ve seen. Whaddya think?
side note: this was not taken with a tripod. I was standing in the water and literally swooped the camera along the waterline as the wave came in!
Have a good one! Happy holidays and thanks for stopping by!
P.S. as for some physical descriptions in the photo, I think I’m going to start using notes on the photo itself to make things easier to explain. Hope that helps.
