I have been wanting an image of Mt Hood from this location for several years and have made more then several attempts. But every-time I have tried, either the sky ends up clearing up at the last second or the clouds covered the mountain. On this evening I was very hopeful, but the usual late clearing took it's course and the beautiful puffy clouds left the scene. This sunset was very special however and truly epic, just was not aligned with this location, it really went on forever from bright orange to deep red and finally it closed out with a soft pink. It probably was the longest display of color I have ever witnessed and after it was all said and done, I could of hoped back in my car and made it to a better location to capture the vivid show.
So this image is "almost," a real could-a, should-a been epic evening. But at least the strong colors from down the river, bled over some after-glow pastel colors.
