Made the trip bright and early Saturday morning to check out the wildflowers at Rowena. Leaving the house the sky looked promising despite the weather forecast of rain all day. So around Multnomah Falls, the rain started lightly and close to Hood River the heavy rain started as well as my weather anxiety, but amazingly enough a few short miles up the freeway by the Rowena exit, there was a few breaks in the clouds and no rain and no wind. As I grabbed my gear and started looking around for wild flowers in the dark, my partner in crime for the day Aaron Reed shows up. Its no secret Aaron has a tick-phobia so it was not a big surprise to see him in full waders and a scuba mask, swatting at himself constantly and mumbling expletives at the little burring bloodsuckers. In fact he swears they were taunting him, setting traps for him and he even saw one saddle up a huge mother bee to fly after him! Although the sunrise never really happened, it was still a great morning and day scouting around and trying to dodge the crazy weather we had this weekend!
