More commonly known as moose in North America and Eurasian Elk in Europe....
So some of you are probably wondering whether I captured any wildlife on our recent trip.....so thought I'd treat you to a sampling (total of 5 new posts). Okay, you know me and you know I just love moose despite the fact that they are probably one of the ugliest mammals around....we spent nearly 12 days on our last trip, looking for as many wildlife opportunities as we could; spotted several bull moose in/around the Many Glacier area, but none within shooting distance and/or without being obscured by vegetation, so I was a little bummed that I didn't get to capture one of those huge racks. The morning we left Banff to head back to Great Falls, we decided to take Route 40 which goes right through the heart of Kannanaskis Country (thanks to our friends, Joe, Lorien, and Bev for recommending it). As we were nearing the southern end of the area, we noticed several cars parked alongside the road and everyone appeared to be looking down the hillside at something. I told Mike we should probably pull over and check it out, and he agreed. As he pulled over to the side of the road, I immediately saw what everyone was looking at and was soooooo excited.....a perfect ending to a magnificent trip!!!!!
