092124 - Major Emergency Fire in Glassell Park

At 5:55pm on September 21, 2024 the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 1100 block of N San Fernando Road in Glassell Park.
Firefighters arrived to find a one-story, 100' x 200', vacant commercial building (old county courthouse) well involved in fire and exposed a two-story commercial building.
Firefighters initiated a defensive operation against the fire unit and an offensive operation in the exposure.
Over 100 firefighters extinguished the Major Emergency structure fire in 42 minutes with no injuries reported.
Per protocol, LAFD Arson responded to investigate the cause of the fire.
