082224 - Apartment Fire in Koreatown

At 1:39PM on August 22, 2024 the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 110 block of S Edgemont Street in Koreatown.

Firefighters arrived to find a four story, center-hall style apartment building with moderate smoke showing from the third floor.
78 firefighters extinguished the fire in 21 minutes with no injuries reported.

Firefighters located the fire on the 3rd floor and encountered severe excessive storage conditions inside the unit.
They climbed debris to hit all pockets of fire and contained it to the unit of origin.
