121421 - Firefighters Respond To LA River Amid Heavy Rains

DOWNTOWN - At 5:39 AM on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, LAFD responded to a reported auto rollover on the 1600 block of North Main Street in Los Angeles. Firefighters found bystanders that claim the traffic incident wound up with a vehicle in the river. Crews on scene upgraded the response to a river rescue and searched up and down the LA River by ground and air for over an hour. A victim was never found, but one vehicle was found stationary in the river at the base of a railroad bridge.
