Intense Flames Consume Granada Hills EV

GRANADA HILLS - The Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to the 15800 block of West Rinaldi Street at 2:10 AM on May 31, 2024, to find a black EV sedan fully engulfed in flames. The heat was threatening a nearby out building/pool house and utility poles. Firefighters navigated the dangers of downed power lines and electric vehicle batteries, and extinguished the flames to protect the nearby structures. LAFD's Hazmat Squad 87 responded and assisted with controlling the runoff from the burning batteries. No reported injuries. Cause under investigation.
