LAFD Celebrates 'Fire Service Day' 2024

LOS ANGELES - The second Saturday of each May is designated as “Fire Service Day” in the City of Los Angeles - a citywide open firehouse celebration, when the men and women of the Los Angeles Fire Department welcome residents to visit their Neighborhood Fire Stations.

On May 11, 2024, the LAFD welcomed thousands of visitors of all ages at fire stations across the City.

This years Fire Service Day theme was "Celebrating Community Resilience", with a focus on strengthening the connections that benefit our entire community in times of crisis.

Fire Chief Kristin Crowley also introduced this year's four Honorary Fire Chiefs, who prevailed alongside her at focal sites across the LAFD's four geographic operational bureaus.
