LAFD Rescues Two Adults, Three Animals From Sun Valley House Fire

SUN VALLEY - Los Angeles Fire Department Firefighters rescued two adult residents and three pets trapped by thick smoke and intense flames inside a 1,500 square foot one-story home at 7720 Coldwater Canyon Avenue on March 7, 2024.

 

It took 41 LAFD responders just 21 minutes to fully extinguish the flames, which caused critical burn injury to one man and moderate effects of smoke inhalation to one woman. who were both transported by LAFD Paramedics to an area hospital.

 

LAFD crews worked simultaneously to assist three pets rescued from the burning building. Two canines were responsive to the treatment offered, while one feline remained in critical condition when transferred to the care of L.A. Animal Services responders.

 

An additional five person were displaced by the fire, the cause of which remains under investigation.
