LAFD and LAWA Recognize Southwest Airlines Staff at LAX

It's that time of year, when many of us will take to the skies to visit friends and family - or simply get away for the holidays. For those who may be planning their first flight in a while, we want you to know the men and women of LAFD have been working hard behind the scenes at LAX, to assure your journey through one of our nation's busiest airports is always a safe and enjoyable experience.

As passenger volume increases at Los Angeles International Airport, and travelers encounter many new features and improvements, LAFD Chiefs Kepner and Saunders joined Los Angeles World Airports Deputy Executive Director Michael Christensen and LAFD Fire Prevention and Public Safety Bureau staff, in recognizing the team at Southwest Airlines, including Regional Manager of Corporate Facilities Kathi Woodley and LAX General Manager Toni Wilson, for their passionate teamwork with LAFD and LAWA staff in assuring traveler and worker safety.

Though the traveling public may rarely take note of their presence, LAFD West Bureau Industrial Unit Captain/Paramedic Sid Chambers, and Inspectors Sir Habersham and Matthew Mullen certainly have had their 'fingerprints' all over the many improvements you will note in Southwest's Terminal 1 and beyond, as they work closely with airport and airline officials to assure the well-being of millions of travelers.
