National Engineers Week 2017
National Engineers Week gave students the opportunity to learn more, teach others, and have fun with engineering. Throughout the week, students took part in different challenges focusing on the various engineering fields. They were asked to design a food producing home urban garden, a tower crane capable of suspending a 1 lb. weight, an engineering/economic development plan for a rural refugee settlement in Zambia, and a search engine algorithm for children's toys. There was also a discussion panel on internships, a test drive of a hydrogen-powered car hosted by Air Products, and a session to teach engineering concepts to local girl scout using a variety of hands-on projects.
