Alternative School Break/Brilla 2015
Ten Lafayette students spent part of their winter break at Brilla College Prep, a free K-2 public charter school in South Bronx, NY., through the Alternative School Break (ASB) program. The team developed lesson plans and then, guided by the school's staff, led the classes solo.

The team was studying the impact of inequalities and urban poverty on educational success and was impressed with Brilla's philosophy and high academic achievements.

Hundreds of Lafayette students have taken part in ASB since it's start in 1993. ASB is a movement of students who volunteer their time across the country and around the world to create positive change and foster civic engagement.
