Take Back the NIght 2013
Members of the Lafayette community stood together against sexual violence last month during the Take Back the Night rally. Students, faculty, and staff gathered at various locations around campus and took part in a silent march ending at the Quad. The “silence was shattered” with various chants and remarks by Mary Armstrong, associate professor and chair of women’s and gender studies, and Emily Musil Church, assistant professor of history. The rally is final event in Lafayette’s Madame de Lafayette series, which explores womanhood in the 21st century through lectures, discussions, performances, and film. The series is sponsored by the Association of Lafayette Feminists , the Office of Gender and Sexuality Programs, women’s and gender studies, the Office of Intercultural Development, the Office of Dean of Students, Greek life, and, the Marquis literary magazine.
