Mount Washington Summit and Weather Observatory - New Hampshire

We spent a beautiful morning atop Mount Washington on our trip to New Hampshire. We were there last year, but on a misty, foggy, windy day (which is the norm for over 60% of the time on the summit). When we saw the weather conditions on the summit were clear this year, we couldn't resist making a return trip to catch nice views of the Presidentials.

We wanted to hike up, but my ankle still isn't completely back to normal from a really bad sprain I suffered the day before Easter. New Hampshire granite really exacerbated the soreness! Hopefully, next year...

This is a shot taken with a superwide zoom at 10mm. I liked the distortion... not sure why, but I think it adds to the vast, expansive nature of what the summit of Washington feel like. The sky was spectacular on this day. You can see a backpacker and the summit post on the left side of the frame and the Mount Washington Weather Observatory building on the right side.
