Coluber flagellum ssp. (Coachwhips)
Waller County, Texas - Spring 2014
This trio of coachwhips was found sharing the same board. In this area, I see individuals with characteristics of both western and eastern subspecies. Less than a mile down the road this day, we flipped an entirely tan individual with a red head at the same spot I've found specimens that have the archetypal eastern coachwhip look.
I would consider this trio to be all intergrade coachwhips.
