Pantherophis guttatus meahllmorum (Thornscrub Rat Snake)

Central Texas Coast, Spring 2014


Found under a piece of tin nestled amongst a thick smattering of cord grass near the edge of a salt flat.


This individual was the largest I have seen, between three and four feet in length. It appeared to be nearing the end of a shed cycle.


Well detailed when viewed large.
