Ambystoma texanum (Smallmouth Salamander)

Harris County, TX 02-09-14

While walking my dog this evening, I flipped a few logs on the trail. This salamander was found nestled inside one of those rotting logs.

I actually shot this at the smallest aperture (f32). The results of diffraction are unfortunately very apparent, despite a good depth of field for this subject.

The signature on this is wrong, it should be my 2014 one.
